AI-generated MP4 for PC desktop live wallpapers

PC Live Wallpaper Generator produces short-loop MP4 and WebM videos that you can import into PC desktop live-wallpaper software such as Lively Wallpaper (free, open source) or Wallpaper Engine (Steam, paid). You describe the scene, mood, or style you want; the AI generates the animation; you download the file and import it into your preferred desktop wallpaper app. Important disclosure: the current live-generation main chain on this site outputs in 9:16 portrait format, which is optimized for vertical phone screens. Default settings use 720×1280, and premium output options can go up to 4K MP4. Most PC monitors use 16:9 landscape or ultrawide ratios. A 9:16 video set as a PC desktop wallpaper will letterbox or be cropped by the wallpaper software depending on your settings. This site does not yet generate native 16:9 desktop live wallpapers. Use Lively Wallpaper or Wallpaper Engine's fit/fill/stretch settings to control how the 9:16 video fills your monitor.

How it works

  1. 1

    Write your prompt

Describe the subject, scene, and motion style you want. Abstract, nature, and atmospheric prompts work well for ambient desktop backgrounds.

  2. 2

    AI generates a 9:16 MP4

The generator creates a 9:16 short-loop MP4 or WebM. Default settings stay lightweight, and premium output options can go up to 4K MP4. Download the file to your PC.

  3. 3

Import into Lively Wallpaper or Wallpaper Engine

Open Lively Wallpaper (free) or Wallpaper Engine (Steam) on your PC, add the downloaded MP4, and set it as your desktop wallpaper. Use the scaling or positioning options within the app to adjust how the 9:16 video fills your 16:9 monitor.

PC desktop compatibility and format disclosure

This generator outputs MP4 and WebM at a 9:16 portrait ratio, with options up to 15 seconds and up to 4K MP4. This is the current main chain for live generation on this site and is optimized for vertical phone screens, not PC monitors. To use the output as a PC desktop live wallpaper, you need third-party software: Lively Wallpaper (free, open source, Windows) or Wallpaper Engine (Steam, paid, Windows). Both apps accept MP4 files and can loop them as desktop backgrounds. Because the output is 9:16 and most PC monitors are 16:9, the video will letterbox or be cropped depending on the fill mode you choose in the app. This site does not yet generate native 16:9 widescreen desktop live wallpapers. If you need a true widescreen animated background, you can use Lively Wallpaper or Wallpaper Engine's built-in fit/crop/tile controls as a workaround, or wait for future 16:9 output support.

What this tool does not do

This is not a native Windows live wallpaper. Windows does not support looping video as a desktop background natively — third-party software (Lively Wallpaper or Wallpaper Engine) is required. This tool does not generate widescreen 16:9 desktop live wallpaper animations at this time. The output is 9:16 portrait, which is the current main-chain format; a 16:9 option is not yet available. It does not install anything on your PC automatically; you need to import the downloaded MP4 into your chosen desktop wallpaper app.

Sample output

A real 9:16 MP4 live wallpaper — 720×1280 portrait, ~10 seconds loop, no watermark. Import into Lively Wallpaper or Wallpaper Engine to use on PC.

How to use the MP4 on your desktop

The video output is a 9:16 portrait MP4 made for phones. To use it on a desktop you usually need a third-party video-wallpaper engine and some cropping or background fill.

Wallpaper Engine on Steam (official)

Aspect-ratio note: This page outputs 9:16 portrait MP4 to match phone wallpapers. On a 16:9 or ultrawide monitor the video will letterbox, crop, or use a blurred background fill. A native widescreen desktop loop is not produced by this tool today.

FAQ

Does Windows support live wallpapers without extra software?

No. Windows does not natively support looping video as a desktop background. You need a third-party app: Lively Wallpaper (free, available on GitHub and the Microsoft Store) or Wallpaper Engine (paid, available on Steam) are the two most widely used options.

Why is the output 9:16 and not 16:9 widescreen?

The current live-generation main chain on this site outputs in 9:16 portrait format, which is optimized for vertical phone screens. Native 16:9 widescreen output for PC desktops is not yet available. You can use the fit/fill/crop settings in Lively Wallpaper or Wallpaper Engine to stretch or crop the 9:16 video to fill a 16:9 monitor.

Can I use this on a Mac or Linux desktop?

Lively Wallpaper is primarily a Windows app. Wallpaper Engine has a macOS version. For Linux desktops, compatibility depends on your desktop environment; some users run Wallpaper Engine via Proton on Steam for Linux. Check the respective apps' documentation for current platform support.

Is there a watermark on the downloaded file?

No. The downloaded MP4 or WebM file has no watermark. Commercial reuse is subject to the site's general terms.
